A rough sense of access at both addresses, such as stairs, parking distance, or a gate code, also speeds up the estimate and keeps the eventual crew size accurate.
How the estimate gets built
Local Santa Clarita moves are estimated from crew size and expected hours based on your inventory and the access at both addresses. Long-distance moves are estimated by weight and mileage, confirmed on a scale once the truck is loaded.
Larger homes and any commercial job get a walk-through, either in person or on a video call where you carry the phone from room to room. Smaller apartments can often be quoted from a written inventory alone.
When to reach out
For an end-of-month or summer date, three to four weeks ahead gives the most flexibility on crew and truck size. Mid-month dates in cooler months can often be booked with much shorter notice.
If your timeline is tight because a closing date moved or another crew fell through, reach out anyway. We will give you a straight answer about whether the date can work.
After you book
Once the date is set, you get a confirmation with crew size and arrival window along with a short checklist for the days beforehand. A day or two out, we call to confirm the details and answer anything that has come up since the estimate.
On the morning of the move, the lead calls when the truck is on the way, so you are not standing at the window guessing when to expect it.
